Contract type: Full-Time
Application deadline: 29/01/2018
SEB is now looking for two soon-to- or recent graduates to take part in a yearlong International Trainee programme starting in autumn 2018 that includes several rotations and special training periods abroad on top of the on the job training in the home team. This years’ placements in Helsinki are in Business Development and Debt Financing. After the trainee year, you will find your career path somewhere within the SEB group.
Business Development Trainee, Private Banking
You will be working within SEB Private Banking in an internal management consultant role, where you are actively involved in internal business development projects. Your main responsibility is to support management by gathering information, conducting benchmarks and drawing informed conclusions based on data and your analysis. This could include for example finding out what kind of approaches are used in other countries within SEB and how they could be applied to the local market. You have a curious mindset towards researching and exploring. Finding cause and effect relations is natural to you, you see the larger picture clearly and solve problems in a structured manner.
Collaboration with multiple stakeholders and colleagues from other departments within the group is pivotal in this role: you will build a large network within the bank and get to initiate change. If you are excited about strategic business development and doing things smarter, this is your opportunity to shine!
Debt Financing Trainee, Investment Banking
In this role, you will be working within Debt Financing as a part of an international professional team and collaborate closely with colleagues in Stockholm. You will be part of the team which advises and helps SEB’s customers to raise financing from banking or/and debt capital markets. Projects are often related to refinancing or M&A situations. Your responsibilities include for example supporting the team with the advisory presentations and analyses, following the financial markets and debt related trends, gathering the relevant input across the divisions and functions in SEB. You will be all the time in client surface together with the entire client team.
You get to learn from experienced colleagues and work with client projects right from the start. In this customer facing role, your ability to build relations is crucial. If you are passionate about financial market, know your way around numbers and enjoy working with customers, this is your spot!
In both positions, we offer you excellent career development possibilities after the trainee year. During the first year you will get a great overview of the bank’s operations from a local as well as a global perspective, and perhaps find your career path leading you elsewhere than you originally thought.
Who are you?
You are a person with great social skills who believe in collaboration to achieve more and can lead others to team performance. You are highly motivated, a fast learner and you seek to continuously develop your competence. You understand the changing environment of banking and want to discover this trip with flexibility and curiosity. Strong analytical skills and problem solving capacity is very important and that you always strive to simplify what is complex. We focus on our customers and you believe in always thinking customer first.
You have a recent academic degree for example in business, engineering or social sciences and maybe some relevant work experience. We appreciate diversity in backgrounds, therefore more important than your study major and work experience are your motivation, attitude and career goals. You are fluent in both written and spoken English as well as in Finnish. Language skills in Swedish are an advantage, but not required. Experience acquired through leading projects, extra-curricular work within e.g. customer service or other service areas and studies or work abroad is meriting.
