Job title: Investment Analyst Trainee
Contract type: Part-time internship
Application deadline: 24/11/2019
Areim is a private equity fund manager investing in real estate across the Nordics. The company currently has four funds with a total committed capital of over 1.5 billion Euros. Areim started as the Nordic real estate operating partner for Blackstone and has also worked with well-known international investors such as ING Real Estate and Carlyle.
Areim is now offering a part-time internship within the transactions team at the Helsinki office. We are looking for a student with an exceptional drive, a few years into your studies. Preferably you have previously conducted an internship within real estate, investment banking or similar. Real estate experience is not needed but a general interest towards investments and finance is required. You also have a strong interest in modelling and financial analysis, and taking responsibility for the details as well as the risks. Regardless of a number-focused mindset you enjoy working and being in social settings. The work schedule is agreed together with you to allow and support full-time studies. The average work time will be around 16 hours per week, but can vary over the semester depending on your study workload. We foresee that most of the working time will be during office hours as you will be part of the transactions team. In addition, we hope that you will join the team to the Stockholm office to learn from and work with our Swedish colleagues for a few days during your internship.
As an intern you will take part in various projects involving real estate acquisitions and divestments; underwriting, due diligence, debt financing etc. You will also be involved in evaluating possible additional investments in the current portfolio, e.g. larger refurbishments, developments or conversion projects, as well as ongoing analysis and reporting. You will be part of a small team and encouraged to take responsibility from the beginning. Typical tasks involve conducting investment and market analysis, financial modelling, creating presentation materials as well as the opportunity to participate in transaction processes. You speak Finnish and English and are used to working with Excel and PowerPoint.
As an intern at Areim you are encouraged to step forward and take on responsibility from the start, whilst working closely with experienced co-workers. You are expected to be professional, hardworking and independent with an attitude of no task being too simple. Yet, you are expected to express your opinions as at Areim everyone is appreciated for their input.
If you are interested in the position please send your CV (incld. GPA) and a short cover letter to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than 24 November 2019. The traineeship will last from February to June 2020. For any questions regarding the position, please contact Tuomas Kokkila (email@example.com, +358 50 469 1822).
